Kingsoft Internet Security, developed by Zhuhai-based Chinese software developer Kingsoft, is an antivirus software which protects your computer against viruses, Trojans, worms and other types of threats. The product has had a long history of development in China.

Kingsoft Internet Security contains anti-virus, anti-malware, a vulnerability scanner and personal firewall.

History

Kingsoft Corporation Launched its internet security business in 1997 and released its first product Kingsoft antivirus in 2000.

In 2003, Kingsoft launched enterprise version of Antivirus products and services.

In March 2005, Kingsoft Internet Security converted itself into internet version and adopted “free software, pay for service” business model.

In September 2005, Kingsoft Internet Security entered the Japanese market, and launch Japanese version of Kingsoft Internet Security.

In May 2006, Kingsoft launched a series of products “Kingsoft Firewall, Kingsoft Internet Security, Kingsoft Waterwall”, and strengthened its position as an expert in security software not only for individuals but also with a complete product line designed for enterprise network security.

In May 2007, Kingsoft Internet Security English version was launched in Vietnam and took its first step into the English market.

In June 2007, Kingsoft Internet Security Traditional Chinese version was launched in Hong Kong.

In August 2007, Kingsoft Internet Security 2007 received the VB100 International certification.

In April 2008, Kingsoft Internet Security received VB100 International Anti-virus Certificate for the second time.

In 2009, Kingsoft Internet Security 9 also received the VB100 certification time after time.

In June 2013, Certain Kingsoft products caused Windows users unable to log in or experience blue screen of death errors after applying Windows update KB2839229. This issue can be resolved by updating Kingsoft products in Safe Mode with Networking and then rebooting the computer.[1]

Components
