Latvia–Malaysia relations are foreign relations between Latvia and Malaysia. Latvia does not an embassy in Malaysia,[1] while Malaysian embassy in Helsinki is accredited to Latvia.[2][3] The relations between the two countries are mainly in economic relations.

Economic relations

In 2013, the Latvian Foreign Minister Edgars Rinkēvičs has met the Malaysian Foreign Minister Anifah Aman to expand the economic co-operation between the two countries.[4][5] During a meeting with Anifah Aman, Valdis Dombrovskis noted that Latvia plans to appoint an honorary consul to Malaysia and setting expanding economic co-operation.[6] The Latvian also sees an opportunities for economic co-operation with Malaysia.[6] There is also an exchange of visits between Latvian and Malaysian businessmen to allowing them to become familiar with Latvian and Malaysian business opportunities and to establish contacts with each other.[7] Rinkēvičs on his statement also has invited Malaysian businessmen to co-operate with Latvia.[8] Currently, Latvia also seeking to attract Malaysian tourists to the country.[9][10]
