Peter Lee Shih Shiong (Chinese: 李偲菘; pinyin: Lǐ Sīsōng; born 1966) is a Singaporean music producer and composer.

Career

Lee is one of the most prolific and sought after Singaporean music producers in Asia.[citation needed] He is also a singer and a composer as well. He and his twin brother Lee Wei Song began composing as teenagers.

The brothers are widely credited for having launched the "xinyao" trend in the late 1980s and early 1990s. During that period, the brothers composed prolifically, regularly penning theme songs for many well-known SBC dramas such as Samsui Women (红头巾) and Good Morning, Sir! (早安老师). The former was named the top 5 favourite drama theme songs at the Star Awards 2007 25th anniversary special while the latter shot veteran actress Chen Liping to fame.

Lee together with his brother opened Lee Wei Song School of Music located in Singapore. The school has been responsible for discovering and developing local musical talents such as the Singaporean singer-songwriter, Stefanie Sun, also known as Sun Yanzi, who has won many awards under the Lee brothers' tutelage.

When not traveling overseas, both brothers are regularly involved in the local music scene. Shih Shiong was previously a judge on SuperBand and he and his brother are often consulted by MediaCorp producers on new drama theme songs.

Shih Shiong has won many awards throughout his illustrious career such as Composer of the Year and Producer of the Year awards at the Golden Melody Awards.
