List of Fred and Anne Jarvis Award winners

Named after former National Union of Teachers (NUT) General Secretary Fred Jarvis and his late wife, the Fred and Anne Jarvis Award was established in 2007 and first awarded in 2008. It is presented annually by the NUT to individuals other than NUT members for campaigning on education and related issues.[1]

2013 | Malala Yousafzai | Only aged fifteen but since 2008 has spoken out for girls' education in Pakistan. Survived an assassination attempt by a Taliban gunman in 2012.[7] |
2014 | Michael Lees | A leading campaigner for the removal of asbestos from schools.[8] |
2015 | Ged Grebby | Chief Executive of the charity Show Racism the Red Card, educating schools, teachers and pupils about combatting racism and providing guidance.[9] |
2016 | Alan Gibbons | Children's author, and campaigner for the retention of school libraries.[10] |
