• Joseph Smith, Jr. (December 23, 1805 – June 27, 1844), founder of the Mormon Church may have committed child sexual abuse - by today's standards. All that is known is that he married a girl that would be considered underage by today’s standards. In Smith's day it was far more common, though becoming less so. No proof exists that anything sexual took place between them, only that they were “sealed” which to Mormons has more to do with being married in the next life than in this one. Prime Minister David Cameron ordered the permanent secretary of the Home Office, Mark Sedwill, (photo above), to investigate the circumstances of the lost dossier.

• 1984 - The Westminster paedophile dossier allegedly associated with the British government was assembled by a British Member of Parliament, Geoffrey Dickens, who handed it to the then Home Secretary, Leon Brittan, in 1984. The whereabouts of the dossier is unknown, along with other files on organised child abuse that had been held by the Home Office.

In 2013, the Home Office stated that all relevant information had been passed to the police, and that Dickens' dossier had not been retained. It was later disclosed that 114 documents concerning child abuse allegations were missing. In July 2014, the Labour Party called for a new inquiry into the way that the allegations had been handled, and Prime Minister David Cameron ordered the permanent secretary of the Home Office, Mark Sedwill, to investigate the circumstances of the lost dossier.

On 7 July 2014, the Home Secretary, Theresa May, announced a review into the handling of historic child abuse allegations, to be led by Peter Wanless, chief executive of the NSPCC (National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children), and the establishment of a public panel inquiry into the duty of care taken in the protection of children from paedophiles by British public institutions, led by an independent panel of experts and chaired by Baroness Butler-Sloss. Butler-Sloss later stood down as chair of the inquiry. On 5 September 2014, it was announced that it would instead be chaired by Fiona Woolf but on 31 October 2014 she, too, resigned from the role. On 4 February 2015 it was announced that the inquiry would be chaired by Justice Lowell Goddard, a New Zealand High Court judge. The existing panel would be disbanded, and the inquiry would be given new powers.

Alisha Owen, in 1989, gave graphic testimony in a video recorded interview. She was molested by Elite, then "sent to prison for telling". In July 1991, Alisha Owen was convicted of perjury with an unheard of sentence between 9 and 25 years, likely a warning to all other potential children witnesses to remain silent. "She spent nearly 2 years in solitary confinement." In 2000, Owen is paroled and wants to be a "normal person" having served 4 1/2 years and being linked to the Franklin Credit Union sexual abuse investigation.

Lawrence King served less than 10 years of his 15-year sentence, ten years less than Alisha Owen, for a 41 million dollar fraud, and was released from prison 2001-01-10.

• Conspiracy of Silence: The Franklin Cover Up (1994 film), a Yorkshire documentary, a documentary to be aired on the Discovery Channel on May 3, 1994 but was censored, by being pulled off the air at the last minute, was purchased by an unknown buyer. However, an earlier rough-edit leaked, available online on YouTube or downloadable by torrent. Conspiracy of Silence reports that as investigator Gary Caradori pursued new leads his vehicles were obviously tampered with as a scare tactic and suspected the FBI and Omaha police of attempting a cover up. On July 11, 1990 Gary Caradory and his 8 year old son AJ, returning from a Chicago All-Stars baseball game, were killed in a 2 seated airplane. The airplane wreckage spread over a 3/4 to 1 mile stretch demonstrating an flight break up that was never explained, nor was it explained why his briefcase and other notable items were missing. FBI agents compounded all records of the crash investigation within 24 hours. "The effect of Gary's crash on the investigation in effect put an end to anybody else coming forward with sensitive information." Testifying victim and witness, Troy Boner, and his family believe the FBI was responsible when his brother, Shawn Timothy Boner, was killed by a mysterious gun accident. All evidence was in the hands of the FBI and the videotaped testimonies of the child victims were leaked to the hostile corporate media who "immediately started discrediting the witnesses. ... The witnesses came across in the media, in the Omaha World Herald especially, as the criminals. ... The whole purpose of their stories was to destroy any credibility these youths may have." The cover up was so immense allegedly because Washington parties at elite manors and the White House featured after parties that included serving children for sex and drugs for all ages. The courts ordered all pedophile prostitution ring investigation records, including traceable financial records, sealed.

• Michael Jackson (b.1958-d.2009). In 1993, the child sexual abuse accusations against Jackson were first reported in the media. Various allegations and legal actions continued until after his death.

• Ken Starr said there was nothing mysterious about the death of Vince Foster (b.1945–d.1993) who may have been "suicided" in 1993 for investigating pedophiles.{needs follow up}

• According to Wikipedia, Dolphin Square, is a block of private flats with some ground floor business units near the River Thames in Pimlico, Westminster, London, built between 1935 and 1937 and marked a pinnacle of the 19th century and early 20th century garden squares in London. At one time it was home to more than 70 MPs, and at least 10 Lords.

In November 2014, Labour MP John Mann told the Daily Mail that he handed evidence of "abuse parties" by prominent MPs at Dolphin Square to the police in 1998 but that the case was quickly shelved on the orders of "those at the top." The Metropolitan Police Service opened an inquiry the same month under Operation Fairbank into allegations that prominent MPs used the block of flats as a venue for child abuse. Carl Beech, then known publicly under the pseudonym "Nick", made false allegations against several prominent men, claiming that he was taken to Dolphin Square regularly as a young boy and abused.

Exaro and the BBC News both carried interviews with Beech in which he lied about being abused at Dolphin Square. The force simultaneously launched a related murder inquiry under the name Operation Midland, in relation to Beech's claims that he saw an MP strangle a child to death. On 21 March 2016, the Metropolitan Police announced that this had been closed without any charges. That year it emerged that statements by Beech were fabrications and the Police's coverage was rebuked for being seen to legitimise the claims. In 2019, Beech was convicted of making up allegations of a VIP paedophile ring.

Also in August 2015, Sky News reported that Jersey police were investigating allegations against Heath as part of Operation Whistle, and a similar investigation, Operation Conifer, was launched by Wiltshire Police at the same time. The Sir Edward Heath Charitable Foundation, which operates the museum at Arundells, his home in Salisbury, said it welcomed the investigation. In November 2016, criminologist Richard Hoskins said that the evidence used against Heath in Operation Conifer, including discredited allegations of satanic ritual abuse, was "preposterous", "fantastical" and gained through the "controversial" practice of recovered-memory therapy. In March 2017 Operation Conifer was closed, having cost a reported £1.5 million over two years, as no corroborating evidence had been found in any of the 42 allegations by 40 individuals (including three different names used by one person).

In September 2017 it was announced that the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse would review the police investigation into Heath.
