This article is a list of bus routes in the Wellington Region of New Zealand, operated under the Greater Wellington Regional Council's Metlink public transport banner.

General route notes

Note that on public holidays, buses operate on a Sunday timetable, except for Anzac Day and Waitangi Day when they fall on a Saturday, where a Saturday timetable operates.

For purposes of start and end destinations, the start is the southern terminus of the route, while the end is the northern terminus.

Night services run on Saturday and Sunday mornings, outside normal bus hours. Route numbers are prefixed with the letter N, and route names are prefixed with "After Midnight".

All services are one-way going out of central Wellington, except N8 which runs one-way from Lower Hutt to Wellington

Kapiti routes

Kapiti buses are separated from Wellington urban area buses, with the exception of 285, which runs to central Wellington. All other buses originate from Paraparaumu Station, and most are timed to connect with Kapiti Line trains to and from Wellington at the station.
