A variety of magazines and annuals for children were published in Britain from the mid-19th century onwards. Many of the periodicals produced their own annuals, which sometimes shared the name of the magazine exactly, as Little Folks or changed the title slightly, as in the case of the Boy's (and Girl's) Own Paper, which became the Boy's (or Girl's) Own Annual.

Included in the list below are magazines which started earlier, or finished later than the period 1900–49, if they were available during that period.

Notes

  1. This is a different magazine from the Amalgamated Press girls' paper of the same name that ran from 1950 to 1965, and then after its incorporation with June, as June and School Friend until 1981.
