List of places described as the end of land or the world

Lua error in package.lua at line 80: module 'strict' not found. The following are places described by concepts suggesting the End of land of the World:

  • the end of a valley near Engelberg, Switzerland, called "End der Welt"
  • Finisterre, from Latin Finis Terrae ("Land's End"), is the origin of various locations' names
  • End of the World Turn, cliffs along a bend in the Elk River near Ivydale, West Virginia, USA
  • The End of the World, referring to a levee in the Upper Ninth Ward, New Orleans, Louisiana, USA
  • Verdens Ende ("World's End") at the southern tip of the island of Tjøme in Vestfold, Norway.
  • Yamal Peninsula ("Yemal" means "End of the World" for its indigenous inhabitants) in Siberia, Russia
  • Isla de los Estados, Tierra del Fuego, Argentina, has a lighthouse known as Faro del fin del mundo ("Lighthouse at the end of the world")
  • Land's End Peninsula in western Cornwall England
  • World's End at Horton Plains, Near Ambewela in Sri Lanka [1]
  • El Arco de Cabo San Lucas, or Lands End, Cabo San Lucas
  • Koválovec, village in western Slovakia.
