The list of shipwrecks in 2001 includes all ships sunk, foundered, grounded, or otherwise lost during 2001.

  • Pati ( Georgia): The cargo ship ran aground, broke in two and sank in the Mediterranean Sea off Antalya, Turkey. The ship was carrying many illegal immigrant, about fifty of whom were killed, as were four of her ten crew. There were a total of thirty-two survivors.[1]

  • Lowlands Beilun ( Singapore): The cargo ship ran aground on the Johor Shoal, Changi and was holed. She was refloated on 5 June, repaired and returned to service.[4]
