London Buses route 492 is a Transport for London contracted bus route in London, England. Running between Bluewater Shopping Centre and Sidcup station, it is operated by Arriva Kent Thameside.

History

Route 492 commenced operating on 26 January 1988 between Dartford and Sidcup station via Crayford and Bexley. It was operated by London Buses' low cost subsidiary Bexleybus. On 26 November 1988, it passed to Boro'line London's Crayford garage.[1]

Upon being re-tendered, on 17 February 1992 it passed to Kentish Bus. When next tendered it passed to London Central's Bexleyheath garage on 23 January 1999. It was extended from Dartford to the newly opened Bluewater Shopping Centre on 23 March 1999.

Arriva Kent Thameside's Dartford garage successfully tendered to operate the route, with a new contract commencing on 24 January 2004.[2] Arriva Kent Thameside commenced a further contract on 24 January 2009.[3]
