List of minor state highways in Louisiana (1-399)

The following is a list of minor state highways in the U.S. state of Louisiana in the 1-399 range. Many of these routes were designated as farm-to-market (or Class "C") routes in the 1955 Louisiana Highway renumbering. The shorter routes in the list often serve as connectors between main highways or are pieces of state-maintained roadways left over from highway realignments. Others are simply state-maintained bridges over waterways or provide access to various La DOTD facilities.


Louisiana Highway 50

Louisiana Highway 50 (LA 50) runs 0.85 miles (1.37 km) in a north–south direction along Almedia Road in St. Rose, St. Charles Parish.[2]

The route heads northward from an intersection with LA 48 (River Road) at the Mississippi River, crossing both the Canadian National Railway (CN) and Kansas City Southern Railway (KCS) tracks at grade, to a point on US 61 (Airline Highway) just east of an interchange with I-310. It is an undivided two-lane highway for its entire length.[2][3][4]

LA 50 was created in the 1955 Louisiana Highway renumbering,[5] and its route has remained the same to the present day.[3][6]

The entire highway is in St. Rose, St. Charles Parish.

Louisiana Highway 53

Louisiana Highway 53 (LA 53) runs 1.64 miles (2.64 km) in a north–south direction along Central Avenue in Reserve, St. John the Baptist Parish.[7] It connects US 61 (Airline Highway) with the Edgard–Reserve Ferry crossing of the Mississippi River.

The route begins at the intersection of LA 44 (River Road) and LA 640 opposite the Edgard–Reserve Ferry landing. It proceeds northward along Central Avenue, crossing both the Canadian National Railway (CN) and Kansas City Southern Railway (KCS) tracks at grade, to US 61 (West Airline Highway). It is an undivided two-lane highway for its entire length.[7][8][9]

LA 53 was created in the 1955 Louisiana Highway renumbering,[5] and its route has remained the same to the present day.[8][10]

The entire highway is in Reserve, St. John the Baptist Parish.

Louisiana Highway 58

Length: 1.59 mi[1] (2.56 km)
Existed: 1955–present

Louisiana Highway 58 (LA 58) runs 1.59 miles (2.56 km) in an east–west direction along Sarah Road in Terrebonne Parish.[11]

The route connects LA 56 at the northern limit of Chauvin with LA 55 in Montegut. LA 56 and LA 55 travel along opposite banks of Bayou Terrebonne and Bayou Petit Caillou, respectively. LA 58 crosses a vertical lift bridge over each waterway to connect the two highways southeast of Houma. It is an undivided two-lane highway for its entire length.[4][11][12]

In the pre-1955 state highway system, LA 58 was designated as State Route 969.[13] LA 58 was created in the 1955 Louisiana Highway renumbering,[5] and its route has remained the same to the present day.[12][14]

The entire highway is in Terrebonne Parish.
