Luigi Cani (December 4, 1970) is passionate for high performance human flights and cinematographic productions. He is one of the world's most famous athletes in parachuting. In 2011 he founded and became an executive producer CANI.TV MEDIA HOUSE, which creates innovative content for televisions around the planet.

Cani studied Advertising and Video Production at “UCLA”, Los Angeles, California from 1998 to 2001. During that time Cani had the opportunity to work for one of the most active Aerial Production Houses in Hollywood. Soon after, he began writing producing and starring in his own innovating projects for Cable and Network TV worldwide.

For the past 11 years, in Cani’s typically perfectionistic style, his passion for creativity has led him to produce quality contents for TV shows around the globe, including Discovery Channel, ESPN, Fox, Rede Globo, Globosat, History Channel, CBS, ABC, Eurosport, MTV and numerous others. Currently, Cani travels around the globe creating innovative projects for TV Globo and Globosat such as:

  • Homem Pássaro – Esporte Espetacular;
  • RadiCani – Cald do Huck;
  • Sem Asas – Canal OFF.

Cani also writes a monthly column, “Adrenalina com segurança” for Men's Health magazine, Brasil. He has been an official factory parachute test pilot for one of the world's leading canopy manufacturers, has accomplished several individual and collective world records, executed over 11,000 jumps around the globe and has won 79 medals competing with the world’s top athletes. His organizational and creative skills have led him to execute cutting edge projects which have set new standards, advancing the skydiving industry and has become a media expert in the sport.

Individual world records and most important feats

  • 2000: Along with his teammates, was the first parachutist to proximity fly the Swiss Alps, creating a new skydiving sport discipline now known as Speed flying.
  • 2000, 2004, 2008: World smallest parachute ever jumped and landed (Icarus JVX-37).
  • 2000, 2004, 2008: World fastest speed flying with a high performance parachute.
  • 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004: Honored as one of the world’s top 10 High Performance Parachute Pilots.
  • 2002: Along with his teammates was the first to land canopies on top of Europe’s highest peak, Mont Blanc.
  • 2004: First skydiver to fly a high performance parachute in close proximity with a wing-suit pilot creating the new sport discipline called “XRW”.
  • 2005: World fastest free fall speed at 343 mph / 552kmh (stream line body position).
  • 2006: First human to ride a street bike at 160kmh (100 mph) into the Grand Canyon with a wing-suit and parachute.
  • 2007: Wing-suit “proximity” fly-by within 5 meters of the Statue of Christ in Rio de Janeiro.
  • 2008, 2009, 2010: Hired by the USA Military to coach Elite troops such as the Navy Seals, the Special Force and others.
  • 2010: First human to fly a wing-suitin in close formation with a jet fighter aircraft.
  • 2010: First human to ride a motorcycle off the Rio-Niterói bridge over Guanabara Bay in Rio de Janeiro, Brasil.
  • 2010: First Brazilian skydiver to re-enter an Airplane in free fall.
  • 2011: First human to Wing-suit fly between the Petronas Towers in Malaysia.
