Lula Galvão (born Luiz Guilherme Farias Galvão in 1962 in Brasilia) is a Brazilian guitarist. Also an arranger, he has worked with the likes of Caetano Veloso, Guinga, Rosa Passos and Leila Pinheiro. He has accompanied musicians such as Rosa Passos, Ivan Lins and Cláudio Roditi at jazz festivals and concerts around the world.[1]

He started his musical activities in Brasília together with composer and singer Rosa Passos and later recorded several CDs with her acting as a musician and arranger. He performed with Ivan Lins concerts in the United States (Hollywood Bowl, Blue Note, San Francisco Jazz Festival, Clifford Brown Jazz Festival) and Japan.

With the instrumentist and composer Guinga, he performed in several concerts by the United States, Europe and Latin America as the Festival of the Guitar (Córdoba, Spain), concert with the Los Angeles Philharmonic (Disney Hall) with regency of Vince Mendoza, Joe's Pub ( N.Y ), J.F.K center of Arts (D.C), Spivey Hall(G.A), HotHouse ( I.L). He performed, also with Rosa, in the Festival de Jazz de Berne (Switzerland) with Claudio Roditi, Paquito D' Rivera, Raul de Souza, Hélio Alves. Also in Marciac Jazz festival With Claudio Roditi, Maurício Einhorn and Raul de Souza.Performed of several concerts throughout Europe alongside the Cello Player Jaques Morelenbaum. Recorded and attended the Concerts of the CD: A Foreign Sound of Caetano Veloso in the U.S. (Carnegie Hall), Europe (Barbican Theatre), (Chatelet), (Smeraldo), (L'auditori). Recorded and played with the singer and composer Joyce in the Festival de Jazz de Punta del Este. An election conducted by the magazine Guitar Player of Brazil was considered one of the ten best Guitar Brazil.Taught Workshops in Brazil (School of Music of Brasilia, Itajaí conservatory of Music, Tatuí conservatory of Music) and abroad (Monash University-Melbourn) and also with Japan and Italy. Recorded also with: Henri Salvador, Kenny Rankin, Leila Pinheiro, Chico Buarque, Chano Dominguez, Frank Gambale, Wagner Tiso.
