Magnuson Hotels is an American hotel chain & affiliate. It was founded in 2003 by Tom and Melissa Magnuson. It is the largest group of independent hotels in the world.[1]

The company was begun by several independent, unbranded hotel properties. In December 2010, it was listed in Fortune 500 as the fastest growing hotel chain based on revenue. As of that year, it had more than 1,500 properties[2] in 30 countries.[3]

Brands

Currently, Magnuson operates three different hotel brands.[4]

  • Magnuson Grand - Upper-Midscale hotels and resorts
  • Magnuson Hotel - Midscale hotels
  • M Star Hotel - Economy hotels

In addition to its branded properties, the Magnuson portfolio also includes independent affiliate hotels that use the company's marketing or distribution systems.[5]

Loyalty program

Magnuson operates the "STAR Club" loyalty program. Instead of earning points, members earn 25% off of each of their stays at a Magnuson property.[6]
