The Malacca Bird Park (Malay: Taman Burung Melaka) is a bird park in Ayer Keroh, Malacca, Malaysia.[1] With a total area of 1.8 hectares, it is the largest bird park in Asia.[2]

History

The construction of the bird park was completed on 28 February 2013 with a cost of MYR30 million.[3] On 24 March 2013, the park was officiated in a ceremony attended by Malacca Chief Minister Mohd Ali Rustam and Tourism Minister Ng Yen Yen. The park was then fully opened to the public on 1 April 2013.

Architecture

The exterior of the bird park resembles a downscaled stadium with greenery and parrot perched model on the welcoming sign.[4] The park is also equipped with restaurant, souvenir shop, toilet, prayer room, children playground, resting area, stage and car park.

Exhibitions

The bird park houses a collection of almost 700 bird species.

Opening time

The bird park opens everyday from 9.00 a.m. to 8.00 p.m.
