Sports

In the fall of 2007 Maplewood rolled through the regular season football games, losing none and going on to the final four of the state championship. The team lost to Blair Oaks, the defending state champions, in the semifinal round with a score of 42-14. Maplewood's final record for the season was 12-1.[2] In the spring of 2014 and 2015, the MRH Blue Devils baseball team won back to back district championships, their first district wins since 1959 and 1963. [3] [4] In 2010 the school went to the state championships.[5]

By September 2015 a lack of interest among the student body and previous injuries, combined with Maplewood Richmond Heights's small size, meant the school didn't have a football team for the 2015-2016 school year. Soccer (association football) became what would be the school's homecoming game.[5]
