Marathonbet is a betting website operated by Panbet Limited.[1] Marathonbet was established in 1997[1] and is available in over twenty languages. Its customer base comprises over 1.5 million people in 188 countries.

Operations

Marathonbet's operational headquarters is located in Brighton,[2] United Kingdom, and it has satellites operations based in nine cities throughout the world. The website has more than 1,000 employees.[citation needed]

The bookmaker has a retail presence in Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, England, Cameroon, and Kazakhstan.[3][4] Customers may also place bets online and by telephone.

Marathonbet is licensed in Curacao,[5] and also holds an Alderney Gambling license issued by the Alderney Gambling Control Commission (AGCC).[6] The company’s AGCC Gambling license allows it to operate in the UK and parts of Western Europe.[citation needed]

Russia and the CIS

Marathonbet is one of the largest betting companies in Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). In 2009, it employed an estimated 3,900 people. Marathonbet owns and operates retail branches in a number of cities in the CIS.[citation needed] Until Russian federal law #244 was introduced in 2006, Marathonbet accounted for 50% of the Russian betting market.[citation needed]

The betting organisation is prominent in Russian sports media; Kommersant, Soviet Sport,[7] Sport-Express,[8] RIA Novosti and others regularly quote its odds.[citation needed]

Partners

On July 4, 2013, then-Premier League football team Fulham F.C. announced that Marathonbet would be their main sponsor[9] for the 2013/14 and 2014/15 seasons, with an option of a third year. The sponsorship deal was a club record for Fulham F.C.[10][11][12]

On July 7, 2013, 13-time Ukrainian Premier League champions Dynamo Kiev announced a two-year deal with Marathonbet.[13][14] The company's logo will be displayed on the backs of Dynamo Kiev shirts throughout the 2013/14 and 2014/15 Ukrainian Premier League seasons with a third-year option.[15]

On June 18, 2014, Premier League football club West Ham United F.C. announced that Marathonbet would become its Global Betting Partner from July 1, 2014.[16] As part of the long-term agreement, Marathonbet receive naming rights for the Marathonbet Cup, a pre-season friendly between West Ham and Serie A team U.C. Sampdoria. The inaugural Marathonbet Cup took place at the Boleyn Ground on August 9, 2014, which West Ham won 3-2.[17]

On June 26, 2014, Scottish Championship football club Hibernian F.C announced that Marathonbet would become the club's official shirt sponsor for the next two seasons with the option of a third season [18] On July 11, 2014, Football League Championship club Derby County F.C announced a Global Betting Partner deal with Marathonbet.[19] On August 8, 2014, Tottenham Hotspur of the Premier League announced that Marathonbet would become its exclusive Official Betting Partner for the following two seasons.[20]

On July 19, 2015, Marathonbet announced a partnership with Premier League football club Liverpool F.C.[21] On August 6, 2015, Premier League club Manchester United F.C announced a Global Betting Partner deal with Marathonbet, signing a multi-year agreement which excludes China and the United States.[22]

Products and services

The company offers betting on a range of sports through its online sportsbook.[23]

Marathonbet offers two Toto games.[23] Toto 1X2 is a game where players select the outcomes of 15 sporting events.[24] Toto Correct Score is a game where players must try to predict the score lines of eight upcoming sporting events.[25]
