The Martha's Vineyard Sharks are a collegiate summer baseball team based on Martha's Vineyard, that began play in 2011 in the announced Futures Collegiate Baseball League of New England.[1] The team's home games are played at Vineyard Baseball Park located on the Martha's Vineyard Regional High School campus in Oak Bluffs, Massachusetts where $200,000 has been invested in field upgrades and construction of a field house and batting tunnel to be used by The Sharks.[2]

Team History

The 2011 season was a tremendous season for the Sharks. Making their island debut in 2011, the Sharks made an immediate splash by having 2,139 in attendance for opening day. On the field the Sharks sat in 1st place for a majority of the season, before injuries and a team wide virus saddled the once promising campaign. The Sharks won their first FCBL Championship in 2013

The Sharks finished 23-20, and in 3rd place in the inaugural Futures Collegiate Baseball League season.
