Matthew Lewis (born 1930)[1] is an American photojournalist who won a Pulitzer Prize for his 1974 work with The Washington Post.[2]

Life

Lewis began taking photographs in the mid-1950s.[3] He graduated from Morgan State University. He freelanced for the Baltimore Afro-American, was managing editor of photography for The Washington Post where he retired in 1992,[4] and was also a staff photographer with the Thomasville Times in Davidson County, NC.[3]
