Medion AG is a Lenovo German consumer electronics company. It operates in Europe, the United States, and the Asia-Pacific region. The company's main products are computers and notebooks, but also smartphones, tablet computers, digital cameras, TVs, refrigerators, toasters, and fitness equipment.

On 1 June 2011, the Chinese multinational Lenovo Group (LNVGY) announced plans to acquire Medion AG. Since August 2011 they hold the majority stake in Medion.[3]

Products

Medion products in Australia and the United States are available exclusively at Aldi and Super Billing Computers, with some products (such as DVD players) branded as Tevion (Aldi's own brand). Some of their laptops used to sell in North America in Best Buy stores and were sold in Canada at Future Shop as Cicero Computers. Somerfield and Aldi supermarkets in the United Kingdom used to stock Medion TFT monitors, Portable Digital Audio Players, Satellite Navigation systems (uses Physical Storage Format), desktops, laptops and Personal Digital Assistants. Woolworths in the United Kingdom also stocked Medion laptops and desktop packages that included tower unit, monitor, mouse, keyboard, and printer. Woolworth stores used to stock a few of Medion's laptop range. Tesco have also been known to stock a Medion satellite navigation system as well as the Medion Quad Core computer system, though the Medion Quad Core has been discontinued in Tesco stores.

Medion also manufactures Medion Akoya Mini E1210 Netbook PC which is the OEM version of MSI Wind and Medion Akoya E1317T Touch, with multitouch display.

Sponsorship

Medion sponsored Sahara Force India through Formula One Team driver Adrian Sutil in Formula One in 2007 to 2011, until Sutil left the team. In 2013 Sutil returned to Sahara Force India, and Medion returned as a sponsor. Sutil and Medion left the sport at the end of 2013.
