Meng Hongwei (simplified Chinese: 孟宏伟; traditional Chinese: 孟宏偉; pinyin: Mèng Hóngweǐ; born November 1953) is a politician of People's Republic of China.
Biography
Meng was born in Harbin, Heilongjiang in November 1953. He graduated from Peking University, where he majored in Law.
Meng got involved in politics in December 1972.
Meng served as Deputy Minister of Public Security, Director of the China Coast Guard.
On 18 March 2013, Meng was appointed the Deputy Director of the State Oceanic Administration.
