Mikael Yann Mathieu Mandron (born 11 October 1994) is a French born professional footballer who qualifies to play for Scotland through a grandparent. He plays for Sunderland. He usually plays as forward and is a regular starter for the Under 21's squad.
Club career
After playing for lower leagues in France, he joined Sunderland in 2011 as a 16-year-old.[3] After injury to Steven Fletcher he was called into training with the first team.[4] On 30 March 2013 he was an unused substitute against Manchester United. On 29 April 2013 he made his professional debut against Aston Villa coming on as an 85th-minute substitute and replacing Danny Graham in a 6–1 defeat.[5]
On 6 January 2014, Mandron signed for Fleetwood Town on loan until the end of the season.[6]
On 28 January 2015, Mandron signed on a youth loan for League Two side Shrewsbury Town until the end of the season.[7]
International career
In May 2013 Mandron was called up to the Scotland U20 squad for the first time, he qualifies for Scotland through an Aberdeen born grandparent.[8]
