Mikhaylovsky District (Russian: Миха́йловский райо́н) is an administrative[1] and municipal[4] district (raion), one of the twenty-five in Ryazan Oblast, Russia. It is located in the west of the oblast. The area of the district is 1,841 square kilometers (711 sq mi).[citation needed] Its administrative center is the town of Mikhaylov.[2] Population: 35,223 (2010 Census);[5] 38,377 (2002 Census);[8] 45,144 (1989 Census).[9] The population of Mikhaylov accounts for 33.5% of the district's total population.[5]
