Morten Schjolin

Morten Schjolin is a Danish music producer and composer, now living in United Kingdom.

Early career

He began his musical career with the band Harlot, where the later-to-be famous TV presenter, Alex Nyborg Madsen, was the vocalist.

Morten has worked with names as Nelly, LeAnn Rimes, Simply Red, Jennifer Lopez, Rashelle, Justin Trugman, Bass Brothers, Kenny Thomas, Ryan Tedder, I.D.A., Alsou, Smoke2Seven, Shaznay Lewis, Faye, Liberty X, Kaci, Martika, Midge Ure, Mary Griffin, Selah, Curtis Steigers. He also helped with the composition of simply red song 'stay'.

Creator

Morton is now the creative director of a unique brand called CrystalRoc[1], which customise music instruments with Swarovski crystals, afforded only by the super-rich. CrystalRoc is behind Kylie Minogue's sparking Sennheiser microphones, as used on her Showgirl tour. He has also made microphones for Girls Aloud, Rihanna and Alexandra Burke, Leona Lewis, Mötley Crüe, Mary J. Blige and many more.

Eurovision and later career

Schjolin produced the Irish Eurovision Song Contest 2006 entry, Every Song Is A Cry For Love, which was performed by Brian Kennedy. For the first time ever, Ireland, managed to qualify from the semi-final, and ended 10th in the final.

Schjolin returned to Eurovision in 2007 as one of the composers and lyricists of the British Eurovision Song Contest 2007 entry, Flying the Flag (for You), performed by Scooch. It came second from last, only receiving points from Ireland and Malta.

He also co-wrote singer Michelle Gayle's entry "Woo (You Make Me)" in the United Kingdom national selection for Eurovision Song Contest 2008. The entry came second, to "Even If" sung and co written by Andy Abraham. The judges however preferred Michelle's song to Andy Abraham's as they felt her song was more fun and suited to Eurovision, but the public vote disagreed with this. He also co-wrote "Do Anything for your love" sung by FENIX at the UK final of 2003 Schjolin later produced several music videos including the early 2011 Kat DeLuna Party o clock
