Mount Bransfield
Mount Bransfield (Lua error in package.lua at line 80: module 'strict' not found.) is a prominent conical-topped, ice-covered mountain, 760 metres (2,500 ft) high, rising 5.4 miles (9 km) east-southeast of Siffrey Point, 2 nautical miles (4 km) southwest of Cape Dubouzet and 2.7 nautical miles (5 km) north of Koerner Rock, at the northeast tip of the Antarctic Peninsula.
The peak was discovered by a French expedition, 1837–40, under Captain Jules Dumont d'Urville, who named it for Edward Bransfield, Master, Royal Navy, who circumnavigated and charted the South Shetland Islands in 1820.[1]
