History

From 1952 to 1954, the VUHS campus served as a junior high school for two years when Mt. Whitney was opened a few blocks to the south, before reopening as Redwood High School in 1955. Mt. Whitney retained VUHS's original school colors of maroon and white, and their Pioneer mascot.[3][4] [5]
