Javed Afridi (Pashto/Urdu: جاويد افريدی; born 1985) is a business executive from Khyber Agency, Pakistan. He is a chief executive officer at Haier Pakistan,[1] and also owns the professional Twenty20 franchise Peshawar Zalmi.[2][3]

Career

Javed Afridi studied at Edwards College, Peshawar. In 2009, Afridi received Master's degree in Global Management from the London School of Economics of the University of London, England, and currently, he is doing his PhD from the University of Oxford's Saïd Business School. He joined Haier as Marketing Manager and is now a chief executive officer at Haier Pakistan.

Investment in cricket

Haier Pakistan has sponsored many cricket tournaments under his supervision including Haier Super 8 T20 Cup and Pakistan Super League.[4][5] Afridi has also owned a cricket franchise Peshawar Zalmi for US$16 million for a ten-year period.[6] In an interview he said: “Peshawar and KPK are close to my heart, and I want to develop the infrastructure around the game in my homeland.”[7]
