National Geographic Channel is a subscription television network, launched by the Fox International Channels, which launched in 2001 and for the first 12 years, has only been available to the subscribers of NOVA Greece satellite bouquet. The channel features documentaries with factual content involving nature, science, culture, and history and has a huge success in Greece. Shows can be watched in English with Greek subtitles. During the 2000s, foreign versions used to be available (Dutch & Romanian), but as from September 2011, the channel has been fully relaunched in Greek.
