National Music Day in Azerbaijan

18 September is the birthday of a great son of Azerbaijani people, coryphaeus of music culture Uzeyir Hajibeyov. The same day is the celebration not only for music lovers, but also for the nation. The tradition of Uzeyir Hajibeyov's birthday as a celebration was founded by maestro Niyazi. Distinguished composer and conductor, Niyazi remembered this day of every year after Uzeyir Hajibeyov's death. In 1995 during 110 annual jubilee celebration of the being born of a genius composer, President Haydar Aliyev's issued a decree about 18 September as a celebration national music day of the 18th of September.
