Nishu Kumar (born 1 January 1997) is an Indian football player, who plays for I-League club Bengaluru FC as a defender.^[1]

Career

Nishu Kumar began his career with Chandigarh Football Academy. In 2011, he was selected for AIFF Elite Academy as a part of Tata Tea & Inter Milan Soccer Stars talent hunt.^[1] He went on to represent India national under-20 football team at 2016 AFC U-19 Championship qualification.^[2]

On 17 November 2015, Nishu Kumar was signed by Bengaluru FC along with two fellow AIFF Elite Academy cadets, Daniel Lalhlimpuia and Malsawmzuala, in two years deal with an option to extend for one more year.^[3] He represented the club at 2015–16 Bangalore Super Division.^[4] Nishu made his debut for the club in 2016 AFC Cup against Ayeyawady United F.C. on 13 April 2016, which Bengaluru FC won 5–3.^[5] He made his league debut against Mohun Bagan A.C. in the final game of the season on 23 April 2016, Bengaluru lost the game 5–0.
