Matthew Carasiti (born July 23, 1991) is an American professional baseball pitcher in the Colorado Rockies organization. Born in New Britain, Connecticut and raised in East Berlin, Connecticut, Carasiti graduated from Berlin High School, where he was a standout baseball pitcher. Carasiti was originally drafted out of high school by the Texas Rangers in the 36th round (1084 overall) of the 2009 Major League Baseball draft.[citation needed] Carasiti declined the offer and accepted a baseball scholarship to St. John's University in Queens, New York. Carasiti helped St. John's win its record seventh 2012 Big East Conference Baseball Tournament with a 7-3 championship game victory against USF at Bright House Field on Sunday, May 27, 2012.[1] Carasiti was named the Tournament Most Outstanding Player, earning the win in two of his team's four games.[2]

On June 5, 2012, Carasiti was drafted by the Colorado Rockies as the 194th pick in the 2012 MLB draft.[3]

Ryan Castellani

Ryan Castellani (born April 1, 1996) is an American professional baseball pitcher in the Colorado Rockies organization.

Castellani attended Brophy College Preparatory in Phoenix, Arizona.[4] He was drafted by the Colorado Rockies in the second round of the 2014 Major League Baseball Draft.[5][6] He signed with the Rockies and made his professional debut with the Tri-City Dust Devils.[7] Castellani played 2015 with the Asheville Tourists and started 2016 with the Modesto Nuts.

Noel Cuevas

Noel A. Cuevas (born October 2, 1991) is an outfielder in the Colorado Rockies organization. He was drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 21st round of the 2010 MLB draft out of Universidad Interamericana in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

After a brief appearance (3 games) with the Arizona League Dodgers in 2010, he began 2011 with the Ogden Raptors of the Pioneer League (baseball), where he hit .285 in 60 games. He also appeared in 23 games with the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes, but hit just .220 with them. In 2012 he played 23 games in the Arizona League, 13 in the Pioneer League and 50 in the Midwest League with the Great Lakes Loons. Overall, he hit .267. In 2014 he spent the entire season with the Quakes and hit .284 with 12 homers and 66 RBI in 123 games. He made the mid-season California League all-star team.[8] He was promoted in 2014 to the AA Chattanooga Lookouts of the Southern League and hit .231 in 131 games.

On December 16, 2014, he was traded to the Colorado Rockies as the player to be named later in the previous trade that sent pitcher Juan Nicasio to the Dodgers.[9]

Rosell Herrera

Rosell Herrera (October 16, 1992[10]) is a center fielder in the Colorado Rockies organization. He currently plays for the Modesto Nuts.

He was signed by the Rockies as a non-drafted free agent in 2009. In 2011, Baseball America named him the fifth-best prospect in the Pioneer League.[11]

A shortstop and occasional third baseman throughout his career, he was switched to the outfield in 2015 while playing his second season in High-A Modesto.

Prior to the 2013 season, MLB named him the 12th best prospect in the Rockies system. He was added to the Rockies 40-man roster on November 20, 2013.[12] Following the 2015 season, Herrera was non-tendered and elected free agency, but re-signed with the Rockies on a minor league deal.

Germán Márquez

Germán Andres Márquez (born February 22, 1995) is a Venezuelan professional baseball pitcher in the Colorado Rockies organization.

Márquez signed with the Tampa Bay Rays as an international free agent in July 2011. The Rays added him to their 40-man roster after the 2015 season.[13] On January 28, 2016, Márquez and Jake McGee were traded to the Colorado Rockies in exchange for Corey Dickerson and Kevin Padlo.[14]

Ryan P. McMahon (December 14, 1994) is a third baseman in the Colorado Rockies organization.

McMahon attended Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana, California. He played baseball and American football at Mater Dei.[15] The Rockies selected him in the second round, with the 42nd overall selection, of the 2013 Major League Baseball draft.[16]

He was named a Topps Short Season/Rookie All Star in 2013.[17]

Prior to the 2016 season, MLB.com named him the 3rd best third base prospect in baseball.[18]

Sam Moll

Samuel John Moll (born January 3, 1992) is an American professional baseball pitcher in the Colorado Rockies organization.

Moll played college baseball at the University of Memphis. He was drafted by the Colorado Rockies in the third round of the 2013 Major League Baseball draft.[19] He made his professional debut with the Tri-City Dust Devils.[20][21] In July, Moll combined with three other pitchers to throw a no-hitter.[22] He returned to Tri-City in 2014 and appeared in only nine games due to injury. In 2015 he pitched for the Modesto Nuts and New Britain Rock Cats. After the season he pitched in the Arizona Fall League.

Dominic Manuel "Dom" Nunez (January 17, 1995) is a catcher in the Colorado Rockies organization.

Nunez was drafted by the Rockies in the sixth round of the 2013 Major League Baseball draft out of Elk Grove High School in Elk Grove, California.[23] He played the 2013 and 2014 seasons with the Grand Junction Rockies before being promoted to Single-A Asheville in 2015.

Prior to the 2016 season, MLB.com named him the 7th best catching prospect in baseball.[24]

Jordan A. Patterson (born February 12, 1992) is an American professional baseball outfielder and first baseman in the Colorado Rockies organization.

Patterson played college baseball at the University of South Alabama. As a junior he was the Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year.[25] He was drafted by the Colorado Rockies in the fourth round of the 2013 Major League Baseball draft.[26][27] He mad his professional debut with the Grand Junction Rockies and spent 2014 with the Asheville Tourists. Patterson started 2015 with Modesto Nuts and was promoted to the Double-A New Britain Rock Cats in July.[28] During the final month of the season he transitioned into a first baseman.[29][30]

Correlle Prime (born February 18, 1994) is an American professional baseball first baseman in the Colorado Rockies organization.

Prime was drafted by the Colorado Rockies in the 12th round of the 2012 Major League Baseball draft out of Manatee High School in Bradenton, Florida.[31] He signed with the Rockies and made his professional debut with the Grand Junction Rockies.[32] Prime returned to Grand Junction in 2013 and spent 2014 with the Asheville Tourists.[33][34] After hitting .291 with 21 home runs, he was named the Rockies Doug Million Minor League Player of the Year.[35]

Antonio Senzatela

Antonio Senzatela (January 21, 1995) is a Venezuelan right-handed starting pitcher in the Colorado Rockies organization.

Senzatela was signed by the Rockies as an amateur free agent[36] and began playing with the DSL Rockies in 2012. He currently plays for the High-A Modesto Nuts.

In 2014, he was named by MiLB.com as one of the Rockies' Organization All-Stars[37] after posting a 15-2 record with a 3.11 ERA for Single-A Asheville, helping the team to a South Atlantic League Championship.[38] Prior to the 2015 season, he was named by MLB.com as the Rockies' 11th best prospect.[39]

The Rockies added him to their 40-man roster after the 2015 season.[40]

Will Swanner

William Thomas "Will" Swanner (September 10, 1991[41]) is a catcher in the Colorado Rockies organization. He currently plays for the Modesto Nuts.

He was drafted by the Rockies in the 15th round of the 2010 amateur draft out of La Costa Canyon High School in Carlsbad, California.[42]

Prior to the 2013 season, MLB named him the eighth best prospect in the Rockies system.

Raimel Tapia

Raimel Tapia (February 4, 1994) is an outfielder in the Colorado Rockies organization.

He was signed by the Rockies as a non-drafted free agent in 2010. He spent the 2013 season with the Grand Junction Rockies of the Rookie-level Pioneer League, and was named the league's player of the month for July.[44] He had a 29-game hitting streak for Grand Junction.[45][46] After the season, he was named the Topps Pioneer League Player of the Year for 2013[47] and was named by Baseball Prospectus as the #97 prospect in all of baseball prior to the 2014 season. The Rockies added him to their 40-man roster after the 2015 season.[40] Tapia has been noted for altering his batting stance during at-bats. He generally stands at the plate with an upright stance except when there are two strikes against him, at which point he crouches deeply, dropping his eye level approximately six inches.[48]

Forrest Alexander Wall (born November 20, 1995) is an American professional baseball second baseman in the Colorado Rockies organization.

Wall attended Orangewood Christian High School in Maitland, Florida. A four-year starter on the baseball team, he hit .461 with nine home runs, 70 runs batted in and 70 stolen bases in 79 career games.[49]

Wall was drafted by the Colorado Rockies 35th overall in the 2014 Major League Baseball draft.[50] He signed with the Rockies and made his professional debut with the Grand Junction Rockies.[51][52]

Prior to the 2016 season, MLB.com named him the 4th best second base prospect in baseball.[53]

Tyler Ybarra

Tyler J. Ybarra (born December 11, 1989) is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Colorado Rockies' organization.

Ybarra attended Wellington High School in Wellington, Kansas, where he played for the school's baseball and basketball teams.[54] As a senior, he had a 2.82 earned run average (ERA) as a pitcher for the baseball team. He signed a letter of intent with Hutchinson Community College, but hoped to be chosen in the first ten rounds of the 2008 MLB draft.[55] However, he wasn't selected until the 43rd round, when he was chosen by the Toronto Blue Jays.[54]

Ybarra pitched for the GCL Blue Jays in 2009, then took a year off from baseball due to an undisclosed family matter. He returned in 2011, when he pitched for the Bluefield Blue Jays of the Rookie-level Appalachian League. He had a 2-0 record and 54 strikeouts in 46 innings pitched.[56] He pitched for the Lansing Lugnuts of the Class A Midwest League in 2012,[54] the Dunedin Blue Jays of the Class A-Advanced Florida State League in 2013,[56] and the New Hampshire Fisher Cats of the Double-A Eastern League in 2014. On February 4, 2015, the Blue Jays traded Ybarra to the Rockies for Jayson Aquino.[57]

Ybarra has a daughter, born in November 2013.[56] His father was a pitcher who was chosen in the fifth round of the MLB Draft by the Cincinnati Reds.[55][56]
