Old House Web is a website with ideas and advice for old house enthusiasts. The site provides a blog, a forum, product reviews, how-to advice, a photo gallery, a green guide, garden information, and architecture and design information. It also provides a guide to suppliers and a list of free catalogs.
Background and recognition
Old House Web was founded in 1999 in Gardiner, Maine by Ken and Deb Holmes.[citation needed]
In June 2001, the New York Times featured the Old House Web as a profitable exception to other similar successful sites that are affiliated with large retail stores, magazines, or TV shows.[1] In another instance, Forbes.com included the Old House Web site in its Best of the Web Directory in the home improvement category.[2]
