Overton is a village and civil parish within the City of Lancaster in Lancashire, England. It is located to the south west of Lancaster and to the south of Morecambe, between Heysham and the estuary of the River Lune. Neighbouring villages include Middleton and Sunderland Point; Glasson is on the opposite side of the river. The parish had a population of 1,015 recorded in the 2001 census,[1] increasing to 1,069 at the 2011 Census.[2]
Governance
An electoral ward in the same name exists. This ward stretches to Middleton and the surrounding areas. The total population taken at the 2011 Census was 2,414.[3]
