Charles John "Paddy" Baumann (December 20, 1885 – November 20, 1969) was an American baseball player. He played professional baseball, mostly as a second baseman, for 21 years from 1908 to 1928, including seven years in Major League Baseball for the Detroit Tigers from 1911 to 1914 and the New York Yankees from 1915 to 1917.

Early years

Baumann was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, in 1885.[1]

Professional baseball

Baumann played seven years in Major League Baseball for the Detroit Tigers from 1911 to 1914 and the New York Yankees from 1915 to 1917. He compiled a career batting average of .274 and a .350 on-base percentage in 299 major league games.[1]

Bauman also played 19 seasons in the minor leagues, including stints with the New Bedford Whalers (1909–1911), Providence Grays (1912–1914), Jersey City Skeeters (1919–1920), Tulsa Oilers (1922–1923), and Dallas Steers (1924–1928).[2]

Later years

Baumann died in Indianapolis in 1969 at age 83. He was buried at Crown Hill Cemetery.[1]
