This is a Chinese name; the family name is Pan.

Pan Lin was the leader of a group of Shanyue bandits in Kuaiji (present-day Shaoxing, Zhejiang) in the late Eastern Han Dynasty . The bandits terrorised the region for years until they were eliminated by a volunteer army led by Lu Xun.
