Paramount Defenses Inc is an IT security software development company that develops security solutions. It is used by organizations including the United States government, the United States Department of Defense (US DoD), the Australian Government, Microsoft, and IBM.[citation needed] It is headquartered in Newport Beach, California, and it was established in 2006.

The company is a Microsoft directory services partner and its IT security products are deployed at over 5,000 organizations in over 100 countries. It was established by and is led by former Microsoft Program Manager for Active Directory Security. It operates under the guidance of an Advisory Board led by Microsoft Corporation's last Chief Information Security Officer.

It develops, sells, and supports IT security and access assessment, audit, reporting and compliance software products and services for organizations whose IT infrastructures operate on Microsoft Corporation's Windows Server platform.

Its Gold Finger assessment and security reporting solution for Microsoft Active Directory allows organizations to assess, report and audit administrative access entitlements provisioned in Active Directory deployments. Gold Finger also delivers other security analysis capabilities including a Group Membership Reporter, an Active Directory ACL Viewer, an Active Directory Permissions Analyzer and a Permissions Analyzer for Active Directory.

Its Gold Finger Mini product helps organizations lower the risk of corporate identity theft, by allowing all organizational employees to find out who can reset their passwords to instantly steal their corporate identity and thereby engage in corporate identity theft.

The company also provides Active Directory security risk assessment, security audit, security enhancement and risk mitigation services.

In 2007, it was recognized as a pioneer in the field of security access assessment at the RSA Conference 2007 (keynoted by Bill Gates) and it was recognized as a Top-10 Innovator in the field of Information Security for 2007. In 2008, it was recognized by Fast Companys readers as a Top-50 Most Innovative Companies of 2008, alongside FedEx Corporation, SalesForce.com, Mozilla (developer of the Firefox browser).

Its customers include Fortune 100 companies such the United States Government, the US Department of Defenses, Microsoft Corporation, and IBM.
