Pat Neal

Patrick K. "Pat" Neal is an American real estate developer and politician who is a former Florida State Senator and former representative in the Florida House of Representatives. He served in the United States Army Reserve before joining his father in developing land in Southwest Florida. Pat Neal is the Chairman, Executive Committee, of Neal Communities based in Sarasota, Florida. He has over 45 years of experience in the housing and building industry in Southwest Florida.

Pat holds a B.S. from the University of Pennsylvania and is a graduate of the prestigious Wharton School of Finance.

He served in the Florida House of Representatives from 1974 through 1978 and in the Florida Senate from 1978 through 1986, where he was Chair of the Natural Resources Committee and the Senate Appropriations Committee.

Neal Communities was named the Professional Builder 2015 “Builder of the Year” and was named one of 2012’s “America’s Best Builders” by BUILDER Magazine and voted the “2013 Best Residential Builder in Southwest Florida” in a readers’ poll sponsored by Gulfshore Business Magazine.

Pat was also named one of “The Most Influential People in Florida Politics” by Influence Magazine – Fall 2015.

Neal Communities is philanthropic and community focused. Neal and his company have contributed over seven million dollars supporting charities and community organizations--The Boys and Girls Club, Community Youth Development, and countless other educational and environmental programs in Sarasota and Manatee Counties.

Pat Neal has won every environmental award made to members of the Florida Legislature during his tenure.

Pat and his wife, Charlene, have been married since 1978. Charlene Neal is the founder and principal of the Lakewood Ranch, Florida-based interior design business, Charlene Neal PureStyle. They have two sons--John Neal, President of Neal Land Ventures and Michael Neal, Land Development Manager for Neal Communities.
