Patharia is a town and a nagar panchayat (country subdivision) in Damoh district in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. During World War II, the town served as the training camp for what would become Wingate's Chindits.
Demographics
As of 2001[update] India census,[1] Patharia had a population of 17,182. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Patharia has an average literacy rate of 66%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 75%, and female literacy is 57%. In Patharia, 15% of the population is under 6 years of age.

For higher secondary education there is a school named Govt. Excellence school Patharia.
