Enquiries by justice or numerous journalists are often made about the Balkany's city management. But Balkany and his wife always react and consider that they are aggressed.[4]

Balkany made international news too when on July 17, 2012, just days before the vote on a new national sexual harassment bill, male lawmakers in the National Assembly including Balkany hooted and made catcalls as Housing Minister Cécile Duflot, wearing a floral dress, spoke about an architecture project.

“We were just admiring her,” Patrick Balkany, a conservative legislator, told Le Figaro.[5]
