Prostatic artery embolization

Prostatic artery embolization (or prostate artery embolisation) is a new/experimental treatment for benign prostatic hypertrophy. It is a minimally invasive procedure performed under local anaesthesia and as an outpatient procedure.[1]
Clinical studies
Clinical studies started in June 2008 in Brazil, and early results were encouraging.[1] Results from a UK study have shown it to be a safe procedure but it "was associated with persistent symptoms after 1 year"[2]
There is a clinical study in USA.[3][4] Lua error in package.lua at line 80: module 'strict' not found.
