Puskás Ferenc Labdarugó Akadémia, commonly known as Puskás Akadémia FC or simply Puskás Akadémia, are the youth team of Videoton, in Felcsút, Hungary.[1] Some of the senior members of the U18 team also play for Videoton FC reserves.[2]

History

The aim of the founders is to establish an academy for Videoton and to establish a fitting memorial to former Hungarian national footballer Ferenc Puskás.

On the 30th matchday of the 2015–16 Nemzeti Bajnokság I season Robert Jarni was dismissed due to the defeat against Békéscsaba 1912 Előre at the Pancho Arena on 16 April 2016 resulting Puskás Akadémia's last position and relegation for the first time in the season.[3]

Puskás-Suzuki Cup

Puskás Cup or Puskás Suzuki Kupa is an international football tournament founded by the Ferenc Puskás Academy in Felcsút, Hungary and the Magyar Suzuki Corporation in 2008. The aim of the founders is to establish a club tournament which offers the opportunity for talented young footballers to measure themselves internationally at the U-17 age level and to establish a fitting memorial to Ferenc Puskás.[4]

Successes

On 1 June 2012, former academist Ádám Gyurcsó made his international debut for national team of Hungary as he came on as a substitute against the Czech Republic in the 65th minute, where he scored the winning goal.[5][6]
