Qigu Formation
Type Geological formation

The Qigu Formation is a Mesozoic geologic formation. Dinosaur remains are among the fossils that have been recovered from the formation, although none have yet been referred to a specific genus.[1] Pterosaur fossils have been recovered from the formation.

The "enormous" accumulation of Jurassic freshwater turtle fossils discovered in 2009 at a site nicknamed "Mesa Chelonia" in Shanshan County, Xinjiang is thought to likely belong to the Qigu Formation.[2][3]
