Quintus Sosius Senecio
Quintus Sosius Senecio (fl. 1st century) was a politician of the Roman Empire. He was quaestor in Achaea in the 80s AD and tribune and praetor in the 90s. He was a legate in Germany and became consul ordinarius in 99.
During the Dacian Wars, Senecio held a command in Moesia Superior, and thereafter earned a second consulate in 107 as well as a statue at state expense.
Senecio is probably the same person who was a friend of the Pliny the Younger (Ep. i. 13), and whom Plutarch addresses in several of his lives. (Theseus, 1, Demosth. 1, Brut. 1). He is also the addressee of Plutarch's Quaestiones conviviales and Quomodo quis suos in virtute sentiat profectus, as well as potentially referenced in De primo frigido, where Plutarch speaks of Trajan's expedition on the Danube (949e) during the Second Dacian War.
