This is an administrative block and Sub Tehsil. Its population according to 2001 census is 15,335. Male population is 8,147 female population is 7,188. Rajound is located on State Highway no. 11 at Kaithal-Assandh section. frequent bus service at every 10 minutes from Kaithal to Rajound is available. Land around Rajound is fertile and well irrigated by canal water and tubewells, it is a major producer of wheat and Paddy( rice).

Notable people
Rajound is known for mainly Manoj Kumar an Olympian, Arjuna awardee and world's 6th Ranked Boxer from Rajound, He won Gold medal in the 2010 Delhi Commonwealth Games in light welterweight category and he has represented India in London Olympics 2012.He is currently representing India since last 11 years and preparing for Rio-Olympics. Manoj Kumar also participated in JOR KA JHATKA, a reality show by Star Plus and in KAUN BANEGA CRORPATI hosted by Amitabh Bachchan on Sony TV.[1][2]
Rajound is also known because of another person Mr. Rajesh Kumar Rajound who is Boxing Coach of Olympian & Arjuna Awardee Boxer Manoj Kumar and many other national and International Boxers. Rajesh himself was a very fine boxer in his early days but later he started coaching to other boxers. He bring his younger Brothers in boxing to make them champions. Credit of bringing Olympian Boxer Manoj kumar is goes to Rajesh. In early days he used to travel daily from his village to Kaithal on a bicycle along with his brothers Manoj Kumar and Mukesh Kumar. Later Manoj become common wealth Gold Medalist, Olympian and Arjuna Awardee. Mukesh also become an International Boxer and won medals several medals for India On international platforms. Rajesh currently working as Boxing Caoch at Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra.[3][4]
