Ray Pohlman

Ray Pohlman (July 22, 1930 - November 1990) American session musician and arranger, born in Baker Township, Iowa, who not only played both upright bass and bass guitar, but also did sessions as a guitarist. He is credited with being the first electric bass player in Los Angeles studios in the 1950.[citation needed]
He was a member of the The Wrecking Crew with whom he recorded with Phil Spector and The Beach Boys.
Pohlman was the band leader and arranger of the house band, "The Shindogs" in the 1960s T.V. show Shindig.
Fellow session bassist Carol Kaye wrote of him, “Ray Pohlman in the early 80s became the rhythm guitarist for Frankie Capp’s great jazz band, Juggernaut.”[1]
