Remo Sernagiotto

Remo Sernagiotto (1 September 1955, in Montebelluna) is an Italian politician from Veneto.

A long-time Christian Democrat, he was first elected to the Regional Council of Veneto in 2000 for Forza Italia. In 2005 he and became floor leader of his party, often being a vocal critic of President Giancarlo Galan. Re-elected for The People of Freedom in 2010, he was appointed regional minister of Social Affairs in Zaia I Government.[1][2]

In the 2014 European Parliament election he was elected MEP for the newly-organised Forza Italia and subsequently resigned from regional minister.[3]

On 7 July 2015, Sernagiotto left Forza Italia and EPP to join the ECR group under the newly-formed Italian Conservatives and Reformists party.
