Ren Xuefeng (Chinese: 任学锋; born October 1965) is a Chinese politician and business executive. In August 2014 he was appointed Communist Party Secretary of Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong province, replacing Wan Qingliang who was dismissed for corruption. He was the first person from outside Guangdong to become the top leader of its capital in 33 years.[1] Prior to that he served as Vice Mayor of Tianjin from 2008 to 2014.[2][3]

Ren Xuefeng was born in Xingtai, Hebei province in October 1965. He joined the Communist Party of China in July 1985. He graduated from Hebei University of Technology, where he majored in macromolecular science. He also has a Doctor of Business Administration degree from Nankai University, where he was a professor.[3] From 1995 to 2002 he was General Manager of the Tianjin New Technology Industrial Park, the predecessor of Binhai New Area. From 2004 to 2008 he served as Vice-Chairman, then Chairman of Hong Kong Jinlian (Tsinlein) Group Co. Ltd., the de facto representative office of the Tianjin government in Hong Kong.[1]

Ren is an alternate member of the 18th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China.[2]
