River Park is a shopping center in Fresno, California on the east side of Blackstone Avenue featuring three distinct shopping areas: The Shops at River Park, with mall type stores, restaurants, and a movie theater, The Marketplace at River Park, a power center with several big box stores, and River Park Plaza, with a Joann craft store and several restaurants. River Park is one of two successful shopping centers in Fresno, the other being Fashion Fair Mall.

While plans for the shopping center date back to the 1970s, the retail project was completed only in the late 1990s.[1] River Park is anchored by Macy's, Kohl's, Best Buy, Target, and the 21-screen movie and IMAX theatre run by Edwards Theatres. Other major retailers include Marshalls, Cost Plus World Market, Sports Authority, OfficeMax, Old Navy, Michaels, H&M, JCPenney Home Store, Bath & Body Works, and REI, with several restaurants located throughout the sprawling 100-acre (40 ha) open-air complex, including P.F. Changs, Ruth's Chris Steak House, Mimi's Cafe, Macaroni Grill, Chevys, Yard House, Carls Jr, Applebees, 5 Guys, and Yogurtland, as well as three Starbucks locations.[citation needed] The shopping center is managed by Lance-Kashian & Company.[2]

On January 17, 2014, H&M announced plans to open a 25,000 sq ft store in the former Borders Bookstore space.

Former major stores include Linens N Things (now Buy Buy Baby), Zany Brainy (now Yard House), CompUSA (now Ashley Furniture), Borders Bookstore (now H&M), and Gottschalks (now Macy's).

In 2007 River Park planned a curfew for visitors under 18 amidst claims that teens were seen as a "nuisance" by the shops and by other shoppers. [2] Due to widespread public resistance the curfew policy was postponed indefinitely.[3]
