Robert Healy (commissioner)

Robert Healy, born in Ireland, immigrated to America in 1833 and settled on the South side of Chicago in Bridgeport in 1836. He was a School Director and Highway Commissioner. Healy Elementary School is named for him and has been located in the Bridgeport neighborhood since 1886. Robert Healy died in 1871.
