Robina Hospital is the second hospital located on the Gold Coast. located in the Robina CBD, is a teaching hospital for Bond University and Griffith University.

Location

The Robina Hospital is located in the Robina Business district. The Robina railway station is located adjacent to the hospital, providing direct travel to the northern suburbs of the city, as well as the state capital Brisbane.

The Robina station is also the main bus station for the hospital, Surfside Buslines provides services to mainly the eastern suburbs, as well as the southern, northern and western suburbs.

located on 2 Bayberry Lane, the hospital is only a short drive from exit 79 of the Pacific Motorway.

History

Robina Hospital was originally built as a private hospital in 2000. Offering some public services. In 2002 the Queensland Government Purchased the hospital.

Hospital Expansion

The $42 million Stage One Hospital Expansion has been completed in September 2007 delivering 25 beds and a new emergency department, intensive care/coronary care unit, expanded renal services and increased pathology, medical imaging, pharmacy and medical records departments.

The $287.7 million Stage Two and Three expansion of Robina Hospital delivered an extra 154 new beds transforming it into a 364 bed teaching hospital. Baulderstone was awarded the expansion project which includes, major new works construction in two of the hospital wings and refurbishment of the existing hospital building. The main works were completed in late 2010 and completion of refurbishment works were finished in early 2012.[1]

The expansion of the hospital saw it become the sixth largest hospital in Queensland.
